Theme Store requirements

Exclusivity

• Themes must be published exclusively in the Genstore theme store and cannot be distributed in other marketplaces.
• External marketing materials are not allowed to ensure merchants have access to high-quality themes and the latest features.

Uniqueness

Your theme must differ significantly in design and functionality from existing themes:

• The codebase should be clearly distinct from other themes.
• The identifier for the submitted theme preset must be unique and not duplicate any existing theme.
• Provide a clear industry focus and design style.
• Maintain consistent design across all templates (home page, product page, collection page, blog, search, and cart).
• Offer unique customization options or features that set it apart from other themes.

• Register and log in to the Genstore partner center
• Review theme development guidelines, approval criteria, and design standards
• Test your theme in a Genstore development store to ensure compatibility

Development process overview

Uploading and publishing your theme involves the following two steps:

Step 1: Upload your theme

• Log in to the Genstore partner center
• Navigate to the Themes section in the left-hand menu to access the theme management page
• Click Upload theme, then select and upload your .zip theme file

Tip: Test your theme in a development store before uploading to ensure stability and compatibility.

Step 2: Publish your theme

• After a successful upload, complete the theme listing information and submit for review
• Once approved, your theme will be published in the Genstore Theme Store, where all merchants can browse and install it
